06 March, 2014
Possible theft was detected at the substation owned by EPG in Chiatura. In particular artificially created emergency shut down took place at the 6 kV #5 feeder. Apart from that as a result of the technical brigades on the spot revision, it was detected that approximately 300 l transformer oil has been stolen. Investigation is being conducted and details will be known later.

Due to the mentioned fact electricity supply was suspended to 1315 customers in Chiatura. EPG technical brigades started immediate rehabilitation of the damaged network to restore electricity supply to shut down customers. At present only 60 customers are left without electricity supply so far.

To timely resolve the problem EPG allocated new transformer which is at present being installed. As soon as transformer installation works are completed electricity supply will resume to remaining customers by the end of the day.
