Special statement of “ENERGO-PRO Georgia” on restrictions on the relocation of its distribution network

JSC “ENERGO-PRO Georgia” has been operating in Georgia since 2007. The company inherited the existing power grid and is responsible for its operation. The existing power grid is designed and constructed in such a way as to ensure the stability, security and quality power supply of customers to the maximum extent. Any redesign and relocation of its elements, whether it is the relocation of the power transmission line or the transformer station, leads to a weakening of the network reliability.

The architecture of the power grid is based on technical standards and the principles of energy system stability, which is why the layout of power transmission and distribution lines cannot be determined based on the interests of private or legal entities. Accordingly, it cannot be adapted to various newly launched development projects.

“ENERGO-PRO Georgia” cannot act in accordance with the requirements of specific businesses and individuals if such a requirement contradicts the optimal and safe functioning of the energy system,” said Grigol Mamiseishvili, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC “ENERGO-PRO Georgia”. According to him, any attempt to impose changes on power transmission lines based on individual interests is significantly limited. Accordingly, the company appeals to representatives of the construction business, primarily in the Adjara region, not to consider the reconstruction or relocation of the existing power grid in the process of planning their business, if this would weaken the sustainability of the operating network and harm the interests of other consumers.

The company asks everyone to develop their business activities in such a way as not to violate the protection zones of linear structures defined by Resolution No. 366 of the Government of Georgia, not to plan constructions near electrical equipment or under power lines, which significantly compromises the safety of citizens.
